Social Media & Your New Boss

Nowadays it's very important to keep in mind that the content you share on your social media platforms won't only be seen by you and those you are friends with. As social media platforms continue to make changes daily (I.e Facebook - Scroll Feed) the more public your content becomes. There is no sense of privacy and I believe as time goes people forget that. It's important to portray yourself in cyberspace as you would in person with someone. Before posting content think to yourself "would I want my future boss to see this?" and if the answer is "no" then you know what to do.

I've noticed that some people are turning their Twitter and Facebook feeds into a diary for all those willing to read. If you want to express yourself get a pen and piece of paper or goto a friend. Because sooner or later you'll be in a position where a future boss will ask for your social media site links and they will see all that you've posted in your "diary".

Stay on your toes and monitor your social media accounts wisely.

Be ahead of the curve

It is very important in this industry to be authentic. Don't take on someone's Brand, create and build your own. It may be nerve wrecking at first and definitely time consuming but it can bring great results. My focus at this point is branding for women. We as women want to be just as successful as mean are and not only that but we also want to be viewed as equal. Women have some great character traits that will allow them to progress successfully when building their brand. Women are natural multitasks, we are able to communicate verbally, we are very empathetic and intuitive. We are great at connecting with people and being socially oriented. These are just a few of our strengths that should make us confident in what we already know.

Be a step ahead of the curve (men). Research, research and research before saying you can do something. Men are naturally going to figure something out when they don't know how to do it (especially when they say they do). Have the confidence in what you know, and that even if you don't know it yet, you will learn it as if you'd been doing it all your life. Plan, Organize, Implement and most importantly be prepared to work.

Branding is key. Be authentic.
